What happens for St Faith’s pupils seeking Year 9 entry in September 2027?
Pupils holding offers through the Preliminary Assessment in January 2025 will move to The Leys as planned.
The following additional arrangements apply, in priority order:
Pupils holding a second-choice offer who wish to be considered for their first choice
No additional application fee or new assessment will be required. Existing information from St Faith’s will be used to review the pupil’s preferred pathway.
Pupils who did NOT take the Preliminary Assessment in 2025
These pupils must apply via The Leys website, pay the £200 application fee and sit the entrance assessments at The Leys. If offered a place, the normal acceptance deposit will be payable.
Pupils who were not offered a place but now have an application in progress
No additional application fee or new assessment will be required. Existing information from St Faith’s will be used when considering the pupil.
Pupils who took the Preliminary Assessment but were not offered a place and have not reapplied
The Leys and St Faith’s will review the available academic and pastoral information. Suitable candidates may be approached and offered a place without paying a new application fee or sitting further assessments.

What happens for St Faith’s pupils seeking Year 9 entry in September 2028?
Pupils who did not take the Preliminary Assessment in January 2026
They must apply via The Leys website, pay the £200 application fee and sit the entrance assessments at The Leys. If offered a place, the normal acceptance deposit will be payable.
Pupils who took the Preliminary Assessment but were not offered a place
The Leys and St Faith’s will review existing information and may approach suitable families. No new fee or assessment will be required where the pupil is reconsidered through this process.
Pupils whose applications are now in progress
No additional fee or assessment will be required. Existing information from St Faith’s will be used.
Pupils holding a second-choice offer who wish to be considered for their first choice
No additional fee or assessment will be required. Existing information from St Faith’s will be used, with decisions expected in spring 2027.
What happens for St Faith’s pupils seeking Year 9 entry in September 2029?
Pupils will undertake the QUEST assessment at St Faith’s in January 2027. This will be used to confirm progression to the Upper School. The deadline for application is 6 November 2026.
The application arrangements are:
- An email will be sent from St Faith’s with a bespoke form for families to complete
- A £10 application fee will be payable
- A £600 acceptance deposit will be payable in the Spring Term of Year 8
What happens for St Faith’s pupils seeking Year 9 entry in September 2030?
Pupils will undertake the QUEST assessment at St Faith’s in January 2028 to confirm progression to the Upper School.
What happens for pupils seeking Year 9 entry in September 2031 and beyond?
Progression will normally be confirmed during Year 5, based on the School’s existing knowledge of the pupil, their academic progress and their engagement with School life. If progression is not confirmed at that point, the pupil will remain under review and may receive an offer later.
What does the QUEST assessment include?
QUEST for St Faith’s pupils is a 70-minute online assessment comprising:
- English: 30 minutes
- Mathematics: 20 minutes
- Verbal Reasoning: 10 minutes
- Non-Verbal Reasoning: 10 minutes
Children are not expected to prepare specifically for the assessment, although a familiarisation exercise is available.
Can St Faith’s pupils still apply to other senior schools?
Yes. Pupils will continue to be supported and prepared for entry assessments at other senior schools if their families wish to consider alternative options.
