Community Connections

Our Lesyian community brings together a thriving network of: pupils; parents, past and present; Old Leysians; staff, past and present; donors and supporters; and other friends of The Leys. Beginning with our Methodist foundation, The Leys has a culture of service, of caring for others and, in the words of John Wesley, of doing ‘all the good you can’.

Community Connections seeks to connect all the amazing voluntary work, fundraising and charitable endeavours which happen throughout our School community, and allows this work to be recognised and celebrated, maximising impact, and encouraging others to participate.

Pupils’ Contribution to the school and the wider community is good. Supported by the school’s leadership and the Methodist values on which the school is founded, pupils know that spending time to support and help others is important.

Along with pupil volunteering undertaken as part of both the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and the Personal Development, Service and Leadership Scheme, the Community Fund at The Leys provides the opportunity for local charities and community groups to apply for grants to support their work.
