The majority of competition are in the Autumn and Lent terms when we take on other independent schools from all over the region. The competitive swimming season culminates in the Bath Cup held at The London Aquatics Centre in March every year. We currently have a very strong male Bath cup team, who have finished in the top four in both the 4×50 medley relay and 4×100 freestyle, are female team is also very competitive at this level.
The Leys swimming team has a high standard of water-based training and extra training is undertaken in our fully equipped sports hall, which has cardiovascular equipment and a weights room.

The school currently has two regional and national level swimmers who feed into this programme with great success.
At The Leys we also offer a strong learn to swim programme incorporating the national learn to swim framework and for those pupils who have a greater fear of the water we look to offer our 12-week Aquaphobia programme in which we aim to give pupils more confidence in and around the water. Both programmes are designed to ensure all pupils can swim and be safe in the water by the time they finish their education at the school.
Along with the learn to swim programme, we also offer the opportunity for pupils to swim for enjoyment and fitness, in our swim fitness session. This session is also offered to pupils who which to swim for recovery or rehabilitation purposes.
