We would like to make the process as simple and enjoyable as possible so we warmly invite you to come and see what makes The Leys such a special place. This website can give you all the facts but visiting will give you the opportunity to see the school in action, meet some of our pupils and staff and gain a real insight into the life of the Leys community. There are a number of Open Mornings throughout the year and several Small Group Visits (a more intimate version of an Open Morning). Alternatively, a private visit may be possible and can be tailored to your child’s needs and interests.
The Leys in a school of around 570 pupils and we offer three kinds of place: Boarding, Home Boarding and Day. Our main entry points are Year 7 (11+), Year 9 (13+) and Lower Sixth (16+). Entry into Year 8 and Year 10 may be possible but please enquire before registering.
On joining the school, each child becomes a member of one of eleven houses. There are three Day houses (mixed), three girls’ boarding houses (including one for Sixth Form only), four boys’ boarding houses (including one for Sixth Form only) and one house for Years 7 and 8 (mixed). Boarders and Home Boarders share the same houses. By the Upper Sixth each pupil will have a single room.
