Scholarships
Candidates who wish to be considered for entry to The Leys must complete an assessment.
More InformationThe Leys offers pupils the opportunity to secure a Year 9 place up to two years early, subject to continued satisfactory performance. This is typically for pupils in Years 6 and 7 at their current school.
Once an application form (below) has been completed, candidates will be invited to an on-site assessment day in January to take part in interviews and group activities, as well as an online assessment in English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Puzzles and Comprehension. The English and Mathematics tests will be broadly in line with the National Curriculum. Early notification is requested if any individual is unable to attend on the specified test date or if the candidate requires special access arrangements.
In addition to the assessment day, a report will be requested from the candidate’s current school. Offers are made in early February.
Please note the different arrangements for candidates applying from overseas; further details can be found here.
The entrance examination is an online assessment delivered by Quest. Children are not expected to prepare for the assessment, though we recommend reviewing the familiarisation exercise here. Additional guidance for parents can be found here.
The assessment takes a total of 105 minutes and covers the subjects below.
No further assessment will be required, unless you wish to apply for a Scholarship.
