Entry at Year 8 (12+) and Year 10 (14+)

Entry at Year 8 (12+) and Year 10 (14+)

Year 8 and Year 10 are not typical entry points to The Leys, however spaces may become available during the course of the year. Please contact [email protected] to discuss possibilities before completing an application form. We do not accept applicants into Year 11 or Year 13.

Once an application form has been completed following confirmation of availability, candidates registered for entry to Year 8 or 10 will usually be invited to an on-site assessment day in January to take part in interviews and group activities, as well as an online assessment in English, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Puzzles and Comprehension. The English and Mathematics tests will be broadly in line with the National Curriculum. Early notification is requested if any individual is unable to attend on the specified test date or if the candidate requires special access arrangements.

In addition to the assessment day, a report will be requested from the candidate’s current school. Offers are made in early February.

Please note the different arrangements for candidates applying from overseas; further details can be found here.
