Young Lions call up for Noah
Congratulations to cricketer Noah T who took part in the Young Lions Cricket three-day invitational in Loughborough from 16-18 September. His performance for both Essex and London East led to him being chosen along with only 23 others to take part, earmarked as a potential England player of the future.
Noah is an all-rounder, who opens both the batting and bowling for the Essex U18s side, scoring more than 850 runs at an average of 77 in the 2022 season. He plays his club cricket for Sawston & Babraham Cricket Club in Cambridgeshire, who were crowned as the East Anglian Premier Cricket League Champions this year.
In the Young Lions match Noah had great success with both bowling and batting. He bowled in both innings with a total of 17 overs, and in the second innings finished 1-37. He achieved 81* with the bat in his only innings of the game, setting up a chase of 370 for the opposition. Head of Cricket at The Leys, Richard Kaufman, commented: “Noah’s performance was superb, and this sets him up for the future with England U19s. It confirms what a fantastic player he is and a reward for all his hard work.”
As Sport Scholar and Prefect at The Leys, Noah shows determination for his sport, practicing and training with coaches at school before lessons. He said: “I owe a lot of thanks to my school, but also to my father for his never-ending support and dedication to throwing balls until his arm gives in!
“I hope to sign a full-time professional contract with Essex, which I’ll hopefully find out about in a few weeks, and then to be part of England U19s would be a dream come true.”
