Symphonia Showcase
A Symphonia showcase concert was held on Friday, following the inaugural Symphonia day of music workshops earlier in January. Thirteen talented musicians performed on a range of instruments, including piano, cello, flute and saxophone. Two vocalists, Annabel L and Bonnie B, also sang two contrasting pieces, Handel’s Lascia ch’io pianga and You don’t know this man from Parade respectively. All the performances were informed by the thoughtful feedback of fellow students and staff during workshops the week before, leading to some outstanding playing. The concert was rounded off by Lucy K playing Metallica’s The Unforgiven on electric guitar – an evening of music with something for everyone! A recording of the event can be seen here.
