Sunrisers EPP selection for Freya

Year 11 cricketer Freya H has successfully secured a place in the Sunrisers Emerging Player Programme (EPP). This achievement comes after being awarded U15 Female Player of the Year and Cambridgeshire County Female Player of the Year at the Cambridgeshire County Cricket Awards in September.

Freya will now join players from across London and the South East region in weekly sessions designed to develop their abilities for future selection to the Sunrisers Academy of full squad. The programme has a holistic approach to player development including sessions focussing on fitness and sports psychology alongside batting and bowling skills training.

Freya commented: “I have been playing County-level cricket since I was nine years old, so I am really exciting to be joining the Sunrisers EPP to push me towards the next level and to be around girls who have the same passion for the sport as me.

“I am being well supported at The Leys and I feel so lucky to being coached and mentored by Miss Rudd, our new Director of Sport. It is such an inspiration to be working so closely with a professional cricketer of her calibre and I look forward to taking my playing further under her guidance.”
