Painting the Great Outdoors
Fifteen Leys pupils this weekend took part in the third annual Rowan art exhibition, following the theme of The Great Outdoors. Rowan are a Cambridge charity providing an arts centre and forest school for more than 80 adults with learning disabilities, and it was fantastic to be able to take part in this highlight of their calendar.
The exhibition included canvases by Rowan students, professional artists, and pupils from local schools, among others. A silent auction took place alongside the exhibition, featuring works by renowned artists from across the UK. It was wonderful to see so many interpretations of the theme side-by-side, creating intriguing connections between the works of art.
The exhibition was sponsored by the Community Fund at The Leys, with particular thanks to Ms Battison for guiding pupils in creating their artworks and organising their participation.
