Colin passed away peacefully in his sleep. A world-leading archaeologist, Colin fought for heritage and archaeological legislation in the House of Lords. Whilst Master of Jesus College he was also Chair of Governors for The Leys, which was attended by his sons Alban, East 1983-88 and Magnus, East 1989-94 and, until recently, by his grandson Charlie, Barker 2019-24.
