GCSE Results 2026
We are delighted to celebrate another excellent set of GCSE results, continuing The Leys pupils’ tradition of academic achievement. This year, 73% of all grades were awarded at 9-7, with 47% at grades 9-8, and 23% at the highest grade 9.
Today we celebrate many excellent performances, and particular congratulations go to our highest achievers Emily BT, Hugo F, Joanna H, Saachi K, Elva N, Daniel P, and Vita R. We consider success in the broadest sense and celebrate the dedication, resilience and determination exhibited by this talented cohort who have truly embraced the full life of the school. Behind this strong set of results is a Year 11 cohort which has consistently demonstrated excellence across the Wider Curriculum. This year group contains finalists in national boys’ and girls’ hockey competitions, has seen outstanding drama, music and dance performances, and pupils receiving accolades for their expertise and leadership in CCF and service.
There were notable successes across a broad range of subjects, highlighting the depth of talent within the year group. In PE, 91% of pupils achieved grades 9-7, while 84% of Drama grades were awarded at 9-8. Art was particularly exceptional, with 100% of grades awarded at 9-7. A special mention goes to Elva N, who has been highlighted as one of the top performers nationally in Art by the Cambridge OCR exam board.
Dr Clare Ives, Head of the Leys, commented: “We are immensely proud of our Year 11 pupils and all they have achieved. These excellent GCSE results represent the culmination of three years in which this cohort has made the most of the rich opportunities offered by a Leys education. Through their engagement in every aspect of School life, they have not only secured strong academic outcomes but have also developed character, independence and life skills which will be vital for their continued educational pathway.
“As a year group they contribute richly to our community. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field, on the stage, through service, leadership or countless co-curricular activities, they demonstrate the curiosity, character and determination that will serve them exceptionally well as they move into Sixth Form studies and beyond.
“My sincere thanks go to our outstanding staff for their dedication to excellence and for the care, encouragement and expertise they bring to every pupil’s journey. We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 and look forward to seeing all that they accomplish next.”
