Entry information for international pupils.
Entry at Year 7 (11+) & Year 9 (13+)
Candidates for entry to Year 7 or Year 9 will be tested in English and Mathematics in January of the year of entry. The tests will be broadly in line with the UK National Curriculum Key Stage 2. The application process is the same as prospective pupils from the UK.
Candidates must be registered before attending the test.
Entry at Sixth Form (16+)
The Leys is a UKiset associate school.
UKiset is an adaptive online test designed for international pupils which measures ability over four levels: Non Verbal, Verbal, Quantitative and Spatial Reasoning. All international applicants to The Leys are required to take the UKiset test. It can be taken at approved test centres. Applicants must be registered with The Leys and have paid the registration fee before taking the UKiset test.
After the test is completed, a report is generated for parents and a separate report is created for the school. On receipt of the pupil's UKiset Profile Package, which contains the UKiset School Report, we will respond directly to the family or to the Educational Consultant representing them.
If we are happy to pursue the application, a report from the candidate's current school will be requested. A decision about whether to offer a place will be based on this report, the candidate's score and, in some circumstances, a Skype interview with a senior member of staff at The Leys.
