The Leys and St Faith's

chapter begins stand for The Leys and St Faith’s share a strong and rich history. Both schools have been part of The Leys and St Faith’s Schools Foundation since 1938 and operate under the same charity and Board of Governors. Both schools also have values aligned with the Methodist and Anglican traditions which place emphasis on kindness, integrity, inclusion, respect and social responsibility. Thus, a very strong educational relationship and shared ethos already exists between the schools, including sharing the same motto, ‘In Fide Fiducia’- ‘In Faith, Trust’. We believe this new chapter offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a distinctive educational experience in Cambridge. The St Faith’s site will become home to the Lower School (Early Years to Year 6) and Middle School (Years 7-8), while The Leys site will house the Upper School (Years 9-13). The Foundation is in an enviable position where both schools can seize this fantastic educational opportunity from positions of strength, as demonstrated by the two schools’ most recent ISI reports. We believe this is a forward-thinking, strategic and logical move that has clear educational, financial, operational and community benefits. As an all-through School the focus will be on continuing to educate each pupil to lead a fulfilling life at school and beyond it and to make a positive contribution to society. Our education will shape the character, values, curiosity and sense of purpose for each child, whilst inspiring them to achieve their full potential academically, in the wider curriculum and as members of their community. Both schools look forward to working together over the coming period of development to bring this ethos to life for the all-through School. A new What we 4
