The Leys and St Faith's

Introduction from The Heads and Chair of Governors We are pleased to share important and exciting news about the future of The Leys and St Faith’s. After careful planning and consideration, the Board of Governors has agreed to create a single all-through School, bringing together the strengths of both schools to offer an exceptional education from Early Years to Sixth Form.  This change will provide pupils with a clear and integrated educational journey in the heart of Cambridge, rooted in shared values, excellent teaching and outstanding pastoral care.  The all‑through School will be called ‘The Leys School, Cambridge’ and will operate from September 2028 as a single, unified school across two sites. Both schools will continue to operate broadly as they do now until then. We believe that the all-through School will provide a fantastic educational opportunity for pupils in the heart of Cambridge. The continuity and alignment of the educational journey, vision and curriculum from Early Years to Sixth Form will provide pupils and families with greater opportunities, clarity of provision, and a rich, distinctive and seamless educational experience across their time at the School. This development also strengthens and expands provision across the School, enabling broader academic and wider curricular opportunities and ensuring pupils are confident, well prepared and ready to thrive as they progress. Dr Clare Ives will be Head of the all-through School, and Head of the Upper School. Clare will work closely with Dr Crispin Hyde-Dunn, who will be Head of the Lower and Middle schools. Over the next two years, detailed planning will take place across all areas of School life, with further information shared regularly. We are excited to embark on this next chapter together, building an all-through School that combines warmth, ambition and outstanding education for the children and families of Cambridge and beyond.
