£19,918 (Pro rata annual salary) (FTE £24,898)
We are looking for a multi-skilled Theatre Technician/Production Assistant to join the team in our modern Theatre and Performing Arts Centre, Great Hall. The role will support a range of activities including school productions, concerts, lectures, presentations, external lettings, Academic Drama lessons and venue maintenance. The position is offered on an annualised hours basis with flexible working hours which will include some weekends and evening performances.
We are seeking a creative, assured and committed individual with relevant training and experience, and the aptitude for working with pupils and in a small creative team. ‘All-round’ technical skills are needed with an emphasis on sound, video/scenic projection, carpentry, props acquisition/making, and AV for school events (including weekly assemblies). A high level of IT literacy is also required.
This role is largely practical based in the theatre and workshop areas, with some office/admin work. Depending on the post holder’s skills and interests, the Technician will contribute creatively and practically to all School productions, as well as helping to run the pupil ‘Backstage Company’ activity and supervising backstage during performances. The Technician will also be integral to the support of Academic Drama.
