The Leys and St Faith's
Next Steps FAQs The Foundation will continue to communicate with parents regularly through meetings, written updates and other engagement opportunities as the planning process progresses. Colleagues at both schools look forward to collaborating over the coming months, as we begin the journey into this exciting next chapter. Why has the name ‘The Leys School, Cambridge’ been chosen? The intention is to create a single, clearly understood school identity across the whole educational journey. Having one name provides greater clarity and simplicity for parents, helping families more easily understand the structure and progression of the school. What will the uniform be? The uniform is something that will be developed as part of our collaborative planning process. Will class sizes change or pupil teacher ratios? We anticipate that class sizes will remain largely similar to current provision. Will Saturday school happen at the all-through School? Saturday School will begin in Year 9. We will explore opportunities for pupils in Years 6, 7 and 8 to take part in optional, short enrichment courses on Saturday mornings. These will be designed to broaden pupils’ experiences and provide a gentle introduction to the wider opportunities available in the Upper School. Will pupils be able to join Year 9 from outside the Foundation? Yes, pupils from outside the Foundation who do not pass through the Lower and Middle Schools are still very welcome to join the Upper School at Year 9. Similarly, pupils from outside the Foundation are of course welcome to apply to join across any year group in the Lower School and year 7, 9, 10, and 12 of the Middle and Upper School subject to places available. Will staff and parents contribute to the planning phase? Feedback from staff and parents over the coming two years will play an important role in informing the Governors’ decisions and planning for the all-through School. What will the fee structure be across the all-through School? We anticipate the fees for Lower and Middle Schools to reflect the fees of St Faith’s. We anticipate the fees for the Upper School to reflect the fees of The Leys. We do not anticipate any significant changes from this. What will happen to the alumni organisations for both schools? The Foundation recognises the importance and rich traditions of both alumni communities. Future arrangements will be considered during the planning phase, in coordination with the alumni organisations, to ensure they maintain strong and life-long connections with their classmates and School going forward.
