Boarding
From the Head of Pastoral Care, Caroline Wiedermann
Of the approximate 540 pupils at The Leys, 367 are Boarders or Homeboarders (pupils who spend the entire day in school, but go home to sleep after all their prep and evening activities are done). Every such pupil belongs to one of the eight Boarding Houses. All of these are on the Leys campus except the Boarding House for Moulton (the co-educational Junior House based across the road on Brookside - see map).
A Boarding House is a second home for our pupils, who enjoy a comfortable interior suitably furnished for a group of teenagers of the 21st century. Every Boarding House is looked after by a resident Housemaster or Housemistress, a resident Assistant and a day Matron, all of whom are dedicated to supporting their charges in all matters academic, pastoral and social. Very soon pupils become strongly attached in their loyalties to their Houses and the community who live there. These friendships can often last a lifetime.
