Dale House is a 13-18 girls’ Boarding House. The House can accommodate 59 girls: and currently has 42 Boarders and 14 Home Boarders. We can be found directly in the centre of the school, and the House is newly refurbished giving a cosy and welcoming environment to all.
The girls are very sociable and have created a wonderful house spirit where they pride themselves on being warm and friendly. Dale takes pride in the different talents of its residents and there are a number of academic, art, music and sports scholars within our walls. The girls participate fully in the life of the school whether they are involved with the backstage production of a play, or playing for and captaining a school team.
Dale House is a relaxed and happy house where the girls feel able to adopt this as their second home. The walls and corridors are covered in the girls’ artwork and this ranges from brightly coloured sweets, buttons and ribbons through to gargoyles. The year 11 common room has a travel theme and this is where you will find a giant map covered in sticky dots to show us where the girls come from. We have a few formal rules in Dale: the girls are expected to work quietly and independently and have respect for each others rooms, feelings and privacy.
