Granta '25 Years On' Reunion

A sunny but blustery Saturday 14th May 2011 saw our first Granta Reunion. We were delighted to welcome back 13 of the original 16 girls and 8 of the second year’s intake along with 25 boys from those years and were joined by 13 members of Common Room headed up by Bertie and Joan Bellis. About 90 of us sat down to a delicious dinner in the dining hall following an afternoon spent touring the school, drinking tea, re-acquainting with old friends, attending Chapel, the obligatory Reunion Photograph, before being kindly invited to the Headmasters House for pre dinner drinks.

During the afternoon the current Granta Girls gave our guests a very warm Leys welcome to Granta House, involving banners, balloons and cake. The house has undergone a major transformation and is unrecognisable as School House (as it had previously been) let alone the Granta House of 1984, all were very impressed with it.

Our guests finally disappeared into the night well fed and watered with much giggling and laughter to continue their evening at a local hostelry – We understand it was very late night!
