Old Leysian Sport
There are several active Old Leysian Clubs which support sport:
Old Leysian Football Club
This is the oldest Old Leysian Club, founded in 1877, only two years after the School's Foundation. It is still very active, with a fixture list and matches played at the School on the Family Day in September. In 2007 the Club played in the Benidorm Sevens, reaching the Quarter-Finals of the Plate Competition. The Club also supports England during World Cup matches. For more information please contact Will Spriggs (North A 96-97): will_spriggs@yahoo.co.uk.
Old Leysian Golfing Society
Founded in 1932, the OLGS continues to provide opportunities throughout the year for Old Leysians to enjoy golf together. We have over twenty fixtures (see full list for 2010) and several members also arrange informal matches between themselves. The Spring Meeting is held in the Home Counties in May and the Autumn meeting at the Gog Magog Golf Club. The Society regularly participates in competitions including the Halford Hewitt Tournament, and the Grafton Morrish and Bernard Darwin Trophies.
In the annual Public Schools' Putting Tournament finals held at Royal Wimbledon Golf Club last June, an OLGS team just missed joining the play-off between Tonbridge and Hurtspierpoint, with Tonbridge winning at the second extra hole.
The OLGS played in the 2009 Grafton Morrish Trophy Finals held in Norfolk from 25th-27th September, reaching the Quarter Final stage before losing to eventual winners George Heriot's
This year the Halford Hewitt will be held at Royal St. George’s Golf Club , Sandwich and Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, Deal. We have drawn St Bees at Deal on Thursday April 8th, play off at 12.40 p.m. There is a practice in Norfolk when we are playing against the Old Berkhamstedian Team on Saturday March 13th at Royal West Norfolk Golf Club, Brancaster.

Old Leysian Shooting Club
The Rifle Club is not active at present, as there are insufficient younger members. If you are interested in helping it resume activities, please contact David Ludlow (North B 76-81): david.ludlow4@btopenworld.com.
Lysander Boat Club
This is the OL Rowing Club, which is designed to raise money to support school rowing and has occasional races against the School. Please write to Simon Hames, Master in charge of rowing at The Leys.
Old Leysian Matches Against The School
Because of RFU regulations, the Football Club is no longer able to stage the traditional Buchanan Memorial Match, but the 1st XV does play against last year's 1st XV as part of the September Family Day rugby. The Cricket Club organises a match against the 1st XI on Speech Day. There are no organised OL Hockey clubs, but matches take place as follows: Girls' 1st XI v OLs at the September Family Day, and Boys' 1st XI v OLs towards the end of the Lent Term. Those interested in playing should contact Lydia Fison (F 96-01): lydsfison28@hotmail.com (girls) or jch@theleys.net (boys).
There are tennis matches against the School on Speech Day; contact Richard Hill, Master in charge of tennis at The Leys at radh@theleys.net.

The Leysian Mission, Wesley's Chapel
The Leysian Mission in the City of London was founded in 1886 and has flourished ever since. Old Leysians are always welcome to visit the Mission and to contribute to its excellent work. Full details can be found on its website: www.wesleyschapel.org.uk.
Old Leysian Benevolent Fund
The Benevolent Fund exists to help Old Leysians and their dependents if they run into difficulties through accident, illness, redundancy or other unforeseen hardships.
Whereas many Old Leysians are aware of this fund, there are many others who are unaware of its existence. We would encourage any old or current Leysian who is experiencing hardship to contact the secretary. Please be assured that any request for help would be received and dealt with in confidence and with discretion.
The OL Benevolent Fund relies on the support of Old Leysians and we would be pleased to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping. Any donation, large or small, would be a tremendous help. Please contact Charlie Kidman (North B 62-68), Honorary Secretary of the Old Leysian Benevolent Fund, 165 Huntingdon Road, Cambridge CB3 0DH or telephone (01223) 323956; work (01223) 352476 charliekidman165@aol.com..
