The Archives

Since the opening of the Clapham Building, which is home to the Classics, Divinity, History and Geography Departments, the School has a dedicated Archives Room, housed next to the History Department. Old Leysians are welcome to consult the Archives. However they would be well advised to contact John Harding in advance. He is happy to receive donations for the Archives at any time. (It is surprising the gaps that exist so please don't assume that the School already possesses copies of anything you are thinking of disposing of.) In addition he is delighted to follow up enquiries from any O.L. researching their family history or simply curious about the past activities of members of their family. From time to time John Harding writes articles for the Old Leysian Newsletter on archive matters, including his recent article on the war-time exploits of Graham Sell, who is commemorated on the School War Memorial. The editors of the Newsletter particularly welcome articles from Old Leysians containing reminiscences of their schooldays or outlining their own research into the School's history. Please send your contributions to John Harding at jch@theleys.net.

We are planning to make some materials from the Leys' Archive available to the Old Leysian community in the near future. Watch this space!
