Coin-sorting machine is a winner
A team from The Leys has won the Cambridgeshire Rotary Technology Tournament 2012.
Hannah Carson, Melissa Aksoy, Edward Penty and Raj Chand came up with a winning solution to the challenge posed by the competition, which was to design an automatic coin-sorting machine.
Schools from around the county took part in the event for Year 9 pupils, which aims to promote science and technology. It was held at the Freemasons' Hall, Bateman Street, Cambridge.
Edward George, Head of Design Technology at The Leys, said: "We were delighted by their superb performance. They really put into practice all that they have learned."
The winners were presented with their trophy by Ian Nimmo Smith, Mayor of Cambridge.
