Elite role for Alex

Old Leysian Alex Goode has taken another step towards a full England place by being named in the Elite England Rugby squad.

Alex, 23, who plays for Saracens and the England Saxons, was called into the Elite Squad as cover for the injured Toby Flood. He excelled in Saracens' Heineken Cup match against Biarritz (a 20-16 win for the Saracens), leading Saracens rugby director Mark McColl to comment: "Alex's form in the past six weeks has been as good as any time in the past two years and he is at home at full-back or fly-half."
