Business students 'on the money'

Friendly rivalry spurred on members of the Enterprise Society, a business society run by students at The Leys, in their quest to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Two teams, “not for profit” companies Vida and Latitude, far exceeded their goal of making £1,000 in a year. By holding a variety of events, from wine-tasting to blind-dating, they raised £1,436.86. Overseen by Business and Economics teacher Andrew Peploe, they learned the skills involved in event management.

“The result was a truly fantastic achievement, given that all the pupils are busy studying for AS levels and taking part in the many other activities that run here at The Leys,” said Mr Peploe. “They all gave selflessly of their time and managed and co-ordinated themselves to great effect.”
