Hockey Triumph
The Leys Under-18s boys’ hockey team has won the county cup - without conceding a goal.
They saw off teams from Hills Road, Wisbech, and King’s, Peterborough, before beating Thomas Deacon Academy 3-0 in the semi-finals and arch-rivals, The Perse, 2-0 in a hard-fought fight.
Rod Journeaux, Head of Hockey, said: “This was a great result, and the first time The Leys has won in eight years. To beat such strong rivals as The Perse in the final was the icing on the cake. This is a team with enormous potential, they just need to find greater consistency and discipline to really reach the heights.”
