Remembrance Day
The School gathered for a Service of Remembrance for the nation's war dead at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, 2011.
Staff and pupils lined the Upper Quad for the service, conducted by the School Chaplain, the Rev Clifford Meharry, the observation of the two-minute silence, and the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille by bugler Nick Dunn (U6).
The Leys lost many former pupils in the two World Wars, as monuments in and around the Chapel bear witness. The English Department takes Year 9 pupils on a visit to the First World War battlefields of Arras in Northern France each year - a trip which never fails to move them and inspire their creative writing.
