Great Hall work begins
Work has begun on the School's biggest building project for 136 years, Great Hall, which will replace the existing School Theatre with a £9 million state-of-the-art Science and Performing Arts Centre.
Demolition of the old Theatre, which was built in 1967 and no longer meets the School's requirements, began in the half-term break.
Activities which used to be held in the Theatre are being held elsewhere while the construction work proceeds. The Drama department is mounting a full programme of productions, beginning with a reinterpretation of Shakespeare's tragedy, Romeo and Juliet (November 15-17) which will be staged in the Old Gym.
