Convincing Classics

Ed Cannon (Upper Sixth) has won the Senior section for Latin Prose in the Cambridge and District Classical Association Latin and Greek Reading Competition, held at The Perse Upper School.

He read a passage from one of Cicero's Verrine Orations, beating tough competition. His reading married accurate pronunciation with a convincing style, impressing the judges.

Alex Welby, Head of Classics at The Leys, said: "He beat tough competition, and the reason he did so was the amount of thought he had put into his preparations."
