Bakers think pink
Mouthwatering cakes proved such a temptation on Dale House's Breast Cancer Awareness Day that mums and staff had to lend a hand to keep up with demand.
Pupils throughout the School wore something pink and made a donation to the good cause, but the girl boarders of Dale decided to do something extra and began making cupcakes to sell.
When word got out, production had to be stepped up. Dale's Housemistress, Clare Battison, rolled up her sleeves to make 60 cakes and then she contacted local mothers to seek their help. Half a dozen joined in and the girls raised £252 for Breast Cancer Awareness. Their fund-raising efforts are continuing with "Pink Fridays".
