Horse Riding
There are regular inter-school riding competitions where The Leys usually has a strong team. Recently the team did extremely well at the St. Mary's Dressage competition and two members qualified at Poplar Park for the Eventing championships in November. We have put teams together for almost every discipline which include Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing. The Leys also funds entries of inter-schools events. However, the Leys cannot provide support to those whom don't already ride and have their own horse, it can be possible to ride as a games option, up to 3 times a week permitting that your horse is stabled nearby and you have transport. There is an Eventing centre, 20 minutes away from the school where two students stable their horses and it often holds clinics with advanced Eventer Nigel Taylor and international dressage trainer, Beverly Brightman.
