The Leys is keen to promote its sustainability initiative and as a result we have created a special section of our website.
www.theleys.net/green includes information about current events, the progress being made by the pupil-driven Eco-Schools group, work on Fairtrade and other general information. It will be updated fairly frequently and we would welcome your feedback.
Congratulations to Stuart Walker who has just won the National Final in the Senior category for Acting at the LAMDA Theatre, also collecting a cheque for £500 for his troubles.
Pupils here at The Leys again collected top grades, with 92% receiving A-C grades and 99% picking up A-E grades and 45% of all grades issued were As. Headmaster Mark Slater commented "This marks another very strong performance from our students, and I am delighted with the quailty of their results. We also had a number of weaker candidates who aquitted themselves very well through hard work and excellent teaching and as always we regard those as some of our greatest successes."

Second best GCSE results in the School's history
Following hot on the heels of our excellent A level results were our equally impressive GCSE results. The number of students gaining five or more A*-C passes was 99%, the number of exam papers marked as A* was 26% and the number of A*-A passes awarded was 64%.
Headmaster, Mark Slater, said "I am again very proud of the achievements of our pupils, who have recorded the second-best set of GCSE results in the School's history. They and their teachers deserve the utmost credit. One candidate in four gained 10 or more A*-A passes, which is an outstanding performance."
The Leys signs up for Climate Change Charter
Over half term, The Leys joined a number of leading businesses and institutions from all over Cambridge at the British Antarctic Survey to support the launch of the Cambridge Climate Change Charter.
Mercy Ships get Lenten Appeal support
Every year here at The Leys we have a Lenten Appeal to support a deserving charity, this takes the form of numerous events organised and run by the students and staff, this year that charity will be Mercy Ships.
