Admissions Overview
From the Registrar, Alastair S MacGregor
Families considering entry to The Leys for their son or daughter are encouraged to consult the Prospectus Pack carefully and, if at all possible, to visit the School.
The Prospectus, Prospectus Supplement and Current Information Booklets can all be obtained from this website in electronic form (see Downloads). Full packs can be mailed to families resident in the UK. Families resident outside the UK are encouraged to make full use of the electronic versions which are kept fully up to date.
Only rarely do we interrupt normal teaching to have special presentations since we prefer you to see the School on a normal working day. There are three major components to any visit: a tour of the School (usually with a current pupil), a chance to meet a Housemaster or Housemistress and a question and answer session with either the Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster. Many families prefer to attend Open Days but we also make arrangements for individual family visits when these are more appropriate. More details about visiting opportunities can be found in the Current Information Booklet (see Downloads). and in the Open Day section.
To make a formal application it is necessary to complete and return the Registration Form and transfer the Registration Fee. In order to avoid the possibility that an application is made for an entry point which is already full, the Registration Form needs to be obtained from the Admissions Office. Once a Registration has been confirmed, the appropriate arrangements will be made to assess each candidate.
