Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour. The department offers AQA Psychology A which includes: The Psychology of Memory, Social Psychology, Child Psychology, Biological Psychology, Abnormality, Schizophrenia, Theory of Mind, Paranormal Psychology and Science & Applied Research. The department is supported by guest speakers from the University of Cambridge, together with workshops, and students are given the opportunity throughout their studies to take part in paid research at the university, and to become student members of the British Psychological Society.

Sixth Form

The AS course involves studying the six foundations of Psychology i.e cognition, development, social, individual differences, physiology and research methods. In the second year, study focuses on four of these areas in depth and major philosophical issues of the discipline. The course has substantial practical as well as theoretical elements.
