Use of Cookies

“Cookies” are small text files which are stored on computers by web browsers. When you visit a website which uses cookies, these files are changed to reflect your browsing behaviour, or your preferences. Cookies are generally stored with other browser settings specific to the current user of a computer.

We use two cookies on this website. One is used to track which pages you access, which pages you have permission to view, and whether you are logged in or not. It is used for example in the Shop section to maintain the shopping basket contents. We do not store payment details (such as credit Card numbers) but do store address details so we can send you items by post. The second cookie is a “Google Analytics” cookie. We use this to provide us with more detailed reports about browsing activity, such as what browsers and what types of device are used, how long is spent on each page and whether people browse beyond the homepage. This information is used to make sure that our content is relevant and accessible. This cookie does not gather or store any personal information; it is commonly used by other websites.

Google Analytics Disclaimer

“This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the USA. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.”

Local Logging Policy

Data about your visit to this website is logged by our servers, including your IP address, the date and time of your visit, and the pages you have visited.  This data is used, alongside data from Google Analytics, to report on patterns of usage and demand for pages on this website.  It is not shared with any third parties, though there are circumstances in which it might be requested by, and provided to, government authorities.

If you require any further information about how we use cookies, please feel free to email webmaster@theleys.net.
