Curtain Call For Great Hall

Great Hall's addition to Leysian life has been an incredible success. It is a fabulous project which has advanced enormously the educational and cultural ambitions of the school. This project demonstrates the imagination of The Leys and shows a dedication to broaden the experience which the School offers, and at the same time shows The Leys at its best both in terms of creativity and vision and the whole community at the School is very grateful to the large number of Old Leysians, parents and friends of the School who made this possible.

We have seen the level of drama and musical performances rise to new levels as the pupils really indulge in performing in this amazing space. Teaching of the sciences in our three new ergonomic science labs has made moving between theory and practical more seamless, the drama studio is used regularly as a more intimate performance space and the dance studio has been put to extensive use. Balgarnie’s, our Café, has been well received by pupils and staff as an area to meet and socialise in a relaxed environment and last, but by no means least, everyone at the school has been able to meet for weekly assemblies in the same location.

The fundraising campaign for Great Hall has now closed but there are still naming opportunities available which allow donors to be part of the permanent fabric of the School. Should you wish to support this project please contact Thomas Northcote, Head of Development, either by email tsn@theleys.net or telephone on 01223 508927. Alternatively, please donate online or fill in this donation form and send to the Development Office. Information as to how your donation to Great Hall can be recognised can be found here. Some of the totals may seem daunting but they can be made into more manageable bite sized chunks and we can take monthly payments over three or five years for example.
