At the present time we do not offer any catering services for theatre lettings. Great Hall is a fully licensed venue.
Running your own bar
Hirers may wish to provide a bar for pre-show and interval drinks, in which case it is the responsibility of the hirer to make the necessary arrangements, including drinks supply, glassware and cash float. Generally we recommend the sale of wine by the glass, plus cans of soft drinks and mineral water - but there are no restrictions on what can be offered.
Hirers must comply with all requirements of our Premises Licence (even if providing only free drinks) and must provide sufficient competent adult staff to operate the bar(s) - see options below.
All bar staff must attend a licensing briefing before the event, and sign our records to acknowledge that training has been given.
All bar takings are retained by the hirer.
We recommend the following options:
|Audience of 200 or less||1 bar||Min. 2 staff||Foyer Room (Stalls)|
|Audience of over 200||2 bars||Min. 4 staff||Foyer Room (Stalls) & Trumpington Gallery (Circle)|
We normally recommend opening the Stalls bar for 45 minutes before the performance, and both bars for the interval. For most shows, the bar(s) should close at the end of the interval.
Please note that there are no facilities to wash/dry glassware.
