School House is the oldest house at The Leys, dating back to 1878. It houses 50-60 boy boarders and home-boarders between the ages of 13 and 18. Centrally located in the school, School House took up its current residency in 1989, before which it occupied what is now Dale House.
School House is the smallest 13-18 boarding house at The Leys, but its members are fully involved in the wider academic, cultural and sporting life of the school. The School House Swan Club organises teams for inter-house matches.
School House has such a diverse mix of people; all with different personalities, backgrounds and experiences. This combination of characters results in a house environment which is friendly, welcoming and cohesive. The great thing about being in a dorm with everyone until you get a room-mate in Year 11 is that you feel close to everyone in a year. Mr Reed and Mr Higgins definitely create a stable ship by making sure everything is happening in the right way, whilst Karen is like a second mum working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Without her, School House wouldn't be the same.
